I stands for Invitations – Classic, digital or creative? How to find the right style
Invitations set the tone for your wedding. Traditional, digital, or creative? Pros & cons, wording, design tips – plus s...
Controls per event how many people are allowed to RSVP — with an automatic fallback. Ideal for multi-part celebrations, clear capacities, zero overbooking.
Your wedding rarely consists of just one moment. Maybe you want a non‑religious outdoor ceremony, an intimate dinner with a small group and later a lively after‑party. The number of guests that feels right isn’t the same for every part. This is where wedset.app’s new experimental feature comes in: individual guest limits for each event within the same invitation. It gives you the freedom to structure your celebration the way it suits you—with clear boundaries that protect your planning.
If you activate the feature, you can assign a separate limit to each event in an invitation. The ceremony can be open to ten people, the dinner to two, the party to five. That way there's room where intimacy is wanted and space for energy where you want to celebrate big.
If you don’t set a specific limit for an event, the invitation’s global guest limit is applied automatically. That ensures backwards compatibility and prevents accidental overbooking. In short: you can differentiate deliberately without losing control.
Open your wedset.app account, go to Settings, then General Settings. Under “Advanced” you’ll find the option to enable the experimental feature. After that you can edit an invitation or create a new one. First set a global guest limit. Then assign each event its respective maximum. Save, take a breath, keep planning. If you need help, check out Guest List & RSVP or Warum wedset.
Above all, you gain clarity. Your guests will see exactly how many spots are allocated per event in their RSVP. You avoid misunderstandings and don’t have to juggle separate lists. You also keep an eye on capacities: small rooms, fixed table counts, or a stage with limited seating become planning aids instead of stumbling blocks. And third, you strengthen your creative freedom. Different atmospheres can coexist side by side without you having to send multiple invitations.
Many couples want the sound of children during the ceremony but prefer the dinner to remain deliberately calm. Example: four people from one household may attend the non‑religious ceremony, but only two for dinner. This keeps the atmosphere focused without excluding anyone.
Especially for Indian weddings or other multi‑day cultural celebrations, program elements can be very different. The Sangeet night should be full of energy, the ceremony perhaps more intimate, and the reception dinner strictly capacity‑bound. With per‑event limits you can steer this balance without confusing your guests.
Maybe you dream of a very personal “I do” in a small circle and want to invite all your favourite people to celebrate later. The feature lets you protect the intimate phase and open the party generously—in a single, consistent invitation.
Boutique restaurant, rooftop terrace, museum hall: many locations have natural capacities. By setting appropriate limits per event you translate these constraints directly into your RSVP. No one has to be moved later because the numbers were already correct when they RSVP'd.
Communicate kindly and clearly why the limits vary. A short sentence in your invitation is enough: “Seats for the dinner are limited—thank you for your understanding.” Also check whether the global limit sensibly represents your absolute maximum. Set individual limits only where they genuinely add value. Less is often more, especially if you want to keep an overview. And remember: you can adjust limits at any time if plans or capacities change.
Per‑event guest limits put control back in your hands. You shape your celebration more precisely, without extra tools and without parallel lists. The system protects you from overbooking with a reliable fallback and keeps communication with your guests transparent. For anyone who wants to curate their wedding consciously—from the intimate ceremony to the last dance—this feature is a small setting with big impact.
